Some of Last Year's Work

I spent a good part of my junior year in art experimenting with drawing pens. At first, I was obsessed with stippling and thought that was basically all I could do with drawing pens. Later on, I started trying out the array of marks ink allows you to make and created the piece above. This piece started out as just an experimentation of blending watercolors, but I decided to draw over it and I'm very happy with the results. The contrast of lights and darks on the man could probably be increased in the future.

I made this piece in my advertising class with permanent marker. I am happy with the contrast of black and white and the idea behind the piece (Brittany's Bistro).
